    Hey guy i have a yamaha p50tlrq. End 2016 the engine was rebuild because i had a water leak. after rebuild i had a problem with getting engine to run at w.o.t The engine strats up, idles fine, revs up on muffs. but then in the lake the engine strats up and idles fine, but when i go to w.o.t it just bogs out. no power. makes 1k rpms with throlle all the way down.

    mechanic told me my cdi box was theproblem. so i switched it out with a new one. But still i have the same problem.

    the engine strats up like normaal. idles and revs up on muffs. but then at the lake starts and idle. warmings up without any noticabl problems, but going t w.o.t nothing.

    can anyone help what to look at now. i was thinking feul pump. may check prop &hub. exhaust for blockages. other the that

    Guy`s please help any idea

    Could be lots of things, but since your engine was rebuilt, I would at least check the compression in the cylinders. It's possible that the valve clearances are wrong or something else wasn't rebuilt correctly.

    You could also measure the fuel pressure at the pump using a pressure/vacuum gauge, and see if it's within spec. But I would listen to others here first, as I'm certainly no expert.

      1st I would check to see if the timing is advancing.
      make sure all plugs are getting spark and check fuel pressure/vacuum.

      if spark and timing are good, might see if spraying some fuel into the intakes while problem is there to see if the lack of fuel in cylinders is the problem.

      we have no idea what was done in the rebuild

      Scott the P50TLRQ is in the parts here
      could be main jets plugged.

      then the crank seals between the cylinders have to be good along with top and bottom crank seals.
      but that should show up at low RPM also

          3 cyl
          3 carb engine

          engine rebuild cleaned rings etc
          compression was done. all 3 cyl fine
          carbr where cleaned.
          cdi unit was switched out with new one.
          prime pump, tank to engine hose was replaced.

          only thing i can think of doing is fuel pump and filter. or exhaust blocked.

            could it also be reed valve. why? after rebuild i had hard starting problems. and did some research symptoms of bad reed. it was hard starting and down on power. after going tru carbs en new prime pump, hose and water seperator removed. t starts up fine and idle to this day. but the one thing that still is there is down on power/ bogging at w.o.t

                #3 power the fuel pump.
                if the pump leaks it dumps fuel into #3 cylinder
                check it to see

                  While a longshot - On another forum a member had similar issue. Idled fine but had no power low rpm at WOT after getting a power head rebuilt. After near endless frustration and near loss of the season, he found the spark advance lever wasn't reconnected.

                      Take pump apart and see if the rubber diaphragm is damaged, holes or tears...ect. I would rebuild the pump, new diaphragm and gaskets. See the link for your carb posted earlier, I believe it is Itema #42 and #43..two gaskets and one diaphragm.

                          checked out the pump and the fuel pump is okey. no leak and delivering gas to carbs.

                            Is that the right video???

                            Title says Johnson 150, intake silencer says V6, WTH???

                            I have thoughts about that video, if we know what "that's" about



                            Per your description (NOT that video)
                            I agree about the fuel leak into the #3 cylinder as 99Yam pointed out.

                            If the timing hasn't been dinked with, my $'s on the carbs being clogged up.

                            Doesn't take a month of sitting with fuel, un-treated to evaporate and clog the jets. Your's sound like the MAIN jets as your good at idle and just above idle.

                            Main jets should be open and flowing above that...

                            (That is if everything is assembled correctly, linkages, cables, etc)

                              Does this mean the bottom 2 plugs are having the same problem?
                              or just the #3 plug

                              also have you checked to see if timing is advancing as it should with a timing light.
