I have a 06 Yamaha 70 TLR, What should the WOT RPM be 5500 or 6000? Trying to get correct prop. It is at 5100 RPM WOT now. Thanks

    look at your owners manual.
you can read one on line if you do not have a hard copy

Page 42 in the manual. 6000 RPM.

Correct propeller will allow the WOT RPM to be at or near 6000 when the boat is loaded and the motor is trimmed up to only the most efficient trim angle. No more.

@Bayfisher, 5000-6000 RPM at WOT is correct for your engine indeed. However, you dont necessarily need to go to the maximum of 6000. If you are now at 5100 you might want to take a prop with 2 pitch smaller. For larger hp engines such as yours you can roughly estimate it will increase 400-600 RPM (see here). If you are really into acceleration you could even try a 3 pitch larger prop.
