water pump question?

First attempt at the Lf . Question is does the water pump impeller spin counter clockwise?

Clockwise....with the driveshaft

With the LU "standing up", turn the driveshaft (as noted above) clockwise while pushing the cup/housing down.

Yepper, have fun..

If there's a mid section bushing(for the drive shaft), make sure it's greased up with Yamaha's waterproof grease.

And, when putting the retainer for the impeller back on, PULL UP on the drive shaft while tapping the retainer downward. I use an open end wrench tapping the wrench with a hammer gently while rotating.

This keep the drive shaft from making a slight knocking noise at idle(won't hurt anything)..(should be in the shop manual)
