2003 f200

Seeking opinions on a 2003 F200 with about 300 hrs. What say you...pro/con?

Why you ask? Just getting my ducks in a row incase the F115 shows bad codes and might be best to repower than repair

for the 18' Striper WA ? could be a bit stern-heavy

as to the engine itself - largely the same as the F225 - which I think is a great engine

lots of them around, used parts readily available

of course any 14 year old outboard has an element of crapshoot -

but the only perils I know of particular to that model is the exhaust corrosion (not necessarily a big deal) and thermostat housing corrosion (less satisfying to address)

Many 1851 Stripers run 150hp Yamahas and the weight different between the F200 is about 120#. May just search for a 150hp if the codes on the 115 aren't good. Fingers crossed that they're good.
