  • 150 yamaha speedo plastic fitting Lower unit

Just did the 100 hour maintenance on my two 150 Fourstrokes. In the process of
putting the lower unit back on - I broke the white fitting that sends water to the speed sensor. Its the motor that is not feeding the speedo. I thought I would just replace it next time I service the impellers. I was told by my mechanic that
the missing fitting would not effect anything - just send water into the cavity.

Do I have to worry about anything unknown other than being more careful next time? My speedo on the port engine works just fine. Thanks

      LOL a philosopher!

I have yet to break mine - but I did cut the rubber tube off.

I use my GPS to tell me SOG.

      OP: you're fine.

Just don't let this be a "slippery slope"....be careful with that port engine

Thanks - I want to verify we are talking about the same fitting. It has the o-ring!

yes, your engine has a different part design.

But same result if its broken / missing: no problem.
Other than not being able to operate a speedometer.
