  • 200 hpdi overheats water out cool

The port 2007 200 HP HPDI slows down and I get the alarm horn every 20 minutes or so.
The water coming out the telltale is cool.
But the motor is hot, steam comes out the exhaust.
I run at idle for 2-3 minutes alarm goes away, steam goes away, run another 20 minutes at 3500rpm cycle repeats?

was it advice or just observation

to the op do you have any questions you would like to ask?
water from TT does not go through the hot motor.

If you keep running it like that it will destroy itself
hope you have not harmed anything so far

You have a couple of possibilities, bad water pump, replace the complete kit, not just the impellor, thermostat bad, replace, and drill out broken bolts, or (most likely) the water passages are near blocked up, requiring some dismantling to clean it out, and also drilling out broken bolts.

First rule to know about getting good answers is to ask good questions. IMO anyway.

Trying to get people to think just a bit without pissing them off.
