  • VST tank temp on 2002 F225

    Hi all,
So I vented my VST relief valve out side of the cowling. That seems to make an improvement but not yet a solution.
I make a good run to get engine warmed up, idled for about 10 minutes, shut engine down for about 10min. Started fine but as usual died when applying power. Squeezed bulb and it started and ran full power. Made another run then idled for about 5 minutes and it died. I pulled the VST relief valve and it had a lot of pressure behind it, but i could hear that it was allowing some vapor out before I pulled it off. I shot the engine with a IR temp gun and the engine read an average of 140 degrees. I shot the VST tank and it was 120 degrees. Do you guys think this is too hot or could cause vapor lock.
    Thanks,
BTW I am running 10% ethanol fuel, we have no choice here on Long Island.

perhaps your vst heat exchanger is clogged, scratch that I don't think your has the cooler on the back side,

Thanks for the reply. Can you please tell me how to check it, do you remove it for inspection?
