I'm new to this forum and thank you for any help anyone can give. Our Boy Scout camp had 2 of these engines donated last year that were new in the box. We follow all instructions and after our 4 week program we ran them out of gas and hung them up. A couple weeks later we needed them again so we put them back on the boats and attempted to run them and nothing. We could pull the string forever and nothing would fire. The only problem we had before this was oil in the cylinder that we were told it was because of the way they were shipped. That was fixed and they ran great.
After we couldn't get them started we are being told the engine is locked up and had rust in the valves or cylinder! The string still pulls so I don't understand what they are saying. But what could cause water to get in the engine and create rust? and is there a way to fix it with out replacing the entire upper half of the engine.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
