  • Command Link Plus - wrong fuel level

I have a 2015 F300 with the Command Link Plus LCD display. When I fill up fuel, the reading is only about 70% full - and the "bars" reflect the same thing without about 3 of them showing empty.

Does anyone know what is up with this and how I can fix it? It's driving me absolutely mad, and I have been unable to find anything on this subject. If anyone could please help me I can't tell you how much I would appreciate it.

The gauge needs to be calibrated to the tank sender.

It is fixed by following the calibration procedure in the manual.

How new is the boat? Have you talked to your dealer about this?

Thanks for the reply. It is a 2015 model boat and motor. My dealer did not know the answer. Also, I read the Command Link manual and did not see any details on how to calibrate anything for this?? I only recall the setting for tank # and total fuel capacity. I checked and these were correct (I only have one tank).

The owner's manual does not provide the needed information.

Ask your dealer to provide you with pages 3-34, 3-35 and 3-36 from service manual LIT-18616-03-43.

Thank you for your help. I am trying my best to get these pages but so far no luck. Hopefully, whatever the calibration procedure is, it can be done after the fact and didn't need to be done before using the boat for the first time. The motor has 100 hours on it and has been fueled a number of times.

Send me your email address via PM and I will send you the pages.

For best results the tank needs to be empty. You tell the gauge it is empty. Add some gas. Tell the gauge. Repeat this process until the tank is full.

A different procedure can be used but the gauge won't be as accurate.
