Can someone explain what a Showa trim unit is ?? Aftermarket ? OEM ? Is there a way to visibly tell the difference between Yamaha and Showa trim / tilt units ?? thanks

It is the name of the company that makes the trim and tilt units used on some Yamaha outboard motors. On some Suzuki motors also.

Considered to be OEM.

Some units will have the word Showa cast into them.

They are usually visibly identified by their configuration. Looks if you will.
