Hi folks. I'm new to this so please bear with me. I have a 2010 Yammy 150 4st and it seems I've got a beef with it. It's pushing a Scout 210 xsf which is a fantastic boat by the way. I've been doing some reading from some of the posts and it sure sounds like I've got one of them balancers which is making a whining and occasionally a clicking noise. I heard it immediately when it started whining and haven't run the engine other than to listen to it and try to figure this out. I sort of was under the impression this trouble was limited to some of the older pre 2005 units but as I learn more, it seems this may be more widespread into newer Yammy outboards.

Any thoughts from you experts out there ?

A 2010 F150 does not use the latest balancer. Even if it did, but it is whining, it might be prudent to change it to the latest configuration. Problem is that if and when it fails it can (not will) take out the entire block and head.
