  • 70 hp yamaha in safe mode

my 70 hp Yamaha went in safe mode for low oil I filled it back up but it is still in safe mode how do I get it out of safe mode now, thanks

First off you need to determine if indeed it did go into "safe" mode, what model is it, quite a few 70's have been made over the last 3 decades or so.

As I said if the problem is corrected it goes away.
You need to start looking for what is calling for the RPM reduction and alarm to be sounding.
Do you have gauges that are still indicating what problem is sounding the alarm?

I would think if the gauges showed a oil level problem and when you disconnected it the alarm went away, then the level switch is the problem.

Not a good idea to pull the oil level switch without draining the tank 1st, lets stuff on the bottom of tank get into the oil system plugging things up.

need to make sure the strainer is back in place or replace it when reinstalling.

Kind of sounds like you have a failed alarm buzzer also if it was not sounding alaon with the gauges not indicating properly
