Code 187 / Remote Control System

I have a Pursuit 315 with twin 300s and the Yamaha CommandLink system. Today I received a Check Engine Warning: Code 187 / Remote Control System. The engine seemed to run just fine... Certainly long enough to get back to dock. What does this indicate? This is a used boat and i don't have the Yamaha engine manuals yet.
