Command link plus

Hi I've just got a boat back from my local Yamaha dealer. Two new F300s, 6x9 DEC and Command Link Plus display.
Nothing was calibrated or set up. Not a big deal and nothing I can't figure out. But every time the ignition is switched on a warning appears "a system scan has not been completed, contact your Yamaha dealer"

For reasons that we don't need to go into here, I would rather not contact my dealer.

What is a system scan?
Can I do it?
Is it needed?
If not how do I get rid of the message?
