I have two 2001 200HP Yamaha HPDI’s with 230 hours on each. Hats off to Yamaha for engineering such a work horse engine. I fully maintain my engines and utilize the appropriate gas treatments and filters (Raycor). My starboard engine has an intermittent RPM issue. The engine always starts, but sometimes when starting to plane, the RPMS are missing. My throttle is at a position where it should read 33 hundred RPMS, but I’m at 26. Nothing more. Get this...If I kill the engine and wait 5 seconds and turn back on, the issue is gone and my engine is working as it should be. I replaced the high pressure strainer, VST filter and the glass tube filter, but the issue is still present and intermittent. Can it be a coil starting to go? Any assistance/help is greatly appreciated.
