I am off to a bad start! 99 250 ox66 had high idle that would not go down, my tech replaced idle sensor on top of starboard head, start engine , same high idle, tech swapped thermos from one side to the other, which corrected problem, tech replaced thermos, next day engine was bogging down and stalling, discovered fuel leak from VST tank, tech replaced VST gasket and cleaned o2 ( which now makes arcing sound), Engine now starts nice with good idle and no fuel leaks, I left dock and after about 10 min. engine started stalling/hard starting. Can it be that fuel pump let go at same time gasket blew out?

Did your "Tech" use a new gasket when he cleaned out the O2 sensor? That arcing sound may be a leak if he didn't use a new gasket. It should be quiet. Theres a high temp gasket on the O2 sensor mounting block. There's a pressure test valve for the VST, looks like a tire valve, should be about 35 psi. There's also mechanical fuel pumps prior to the VST to look at. Can you pump the primer ball up firm with the motor off?

o2 gasket was replaced. Arcing sound is only heard with engine cover off. Yesterday engine would start and remain started, until I put in gear to about 1400 rpms, then it bogs down and stalls. My "tech" is checking fuel pressure today now that the rain stopped. Thanks for your help...
