YAMAHA 15hp Short Shaft 2-Stroke Outboard help with Ignition timing

Hi all any of you know haw to time up a YAMAHA 15hp Short Shaft 2-Stroke Outboard as its not ticking over good iv got it set to 5 degrees before TDC at tik over and 25 degrees after TDC on full gas iv gone with what it says in the pic not to sure if its right also what's the mixer screw meant to be iv got it 2 half turns out any info would be grate thanks you

is there a reason you do not give the motor model and serial # or date of manufacture?
since that page talks about magneto , it must be an old motor

2 half turns = 1 full turn.
I am sure your service manual shows the factory setting in the specs

so if you do not know what model motor you have do you know if that service manual is for your motor?

I had no idea magneto linkage and timing plate was used on something like a 2006.
did you look for specs on carb adjustment in the manual?

The very first post on this forum is a list of manual part numbers. It is highlighted in yellow. Find your engine and model in the list and then the proper part number for your manual.

The procedure you posted is a intial static set up, should be checked after with a timing light to insure it is set properly.
