F20 CMH starts runs for 2 secs and stops

The title says it all. After it stops it will not restart for several minutes then when it does it runs for 2 secs and stops.Trying to help an elderly neighbour with this problem. Have removed carb and cleaned all passages. It looked perfect since engine is less than 6 months old. No change to the problem. Oil level is good.Any ideas gratefully recd.

You will have to check to see if it is loosing spark, has too much fuel and flooding, or starving for fuel.
that will give you a direction as to what to work on

Compression, spark, timing, and fuel to air ratio are what make motors run.
Just need to find what is going away
