  • Bottom Carburetor Issue

    2003 Yamaha Outboard 150 HP - V150TLRB

I am having a problem with getting my motor to full throttle. It does it when I pump the ball sometimes. I changed both fuel pumps. I think it is my bottom carb. A backyard mechanic while rebuilding my carbs broke off the lead or port (I think it is called) on the bottom that operate the flow of the fuel. It is so gummed up I can't get it out now. Any suggestions on how to remove it

Are you referring to the part circled in blue below?

    I suspect it's soft aluminum.

Running a "tap" thru there, inserting a bolt and pulling would likely be the best way to go..

That inlet isn't available separately new: https://www.boats.net/catalog/yamaha...lrb/carburetor

Now you'll need to find a replacement..

Seems like you might be able to drill/remove the inlet pipe and make a new one out of some brass tubing of the appropriate diameter for a snug fit....tap it into place and seal it with some epoxy/JB Weld/ other...... It should work and be a Whole Lot cheaper than a new carb...
