  • F115 Temp Sender Install - Do you use a 'sealant' of any type?

    Replacing Temp Sending/sensor Unit 2005 F115.

While the sender has threads, it appears to fit into a 'rubber sleeve' and held in place by the collar with two bolts.

Question: do you use any sealant or does the pressure of the collar actually hold it in tight enough?

The old one has the remnants of 'something', but could just be corrosion remnants.

    Thanks for any guidance.

the rubber bushing itself should be sufficient
although I like to put a light smear of silicone grease on rubber parts

What would Rodbolt say? 518 for everything!

dissimilar metals touching each other(threads of block and plug) should get something
