F60 Plugged Speedo tube

I have a 2008 F60 and the speedometer tube has become plugged. The tube is clear from the transom to the speedometer on the dash, but it is plugged between the transom tube connector and the lower unit. I have tried to blow it out with HP air, but to no avail. I have tried to fish in with a fine wire through the hole in the lower unit to where I assume a pitot tube must be, but it's still plugged. Anybody got any good ideas?

how far does the wire go into it?

Might drop lower unit and check to see where the plug or break is

Take a 3/32" drill bit in your hand and use it to auger material out of the pitot tube on the lower unit. When you have gotten all you can get, remove the cowl and find the hose that runs up from the lower unit. There will be a barbed fitting connecting the engine hose to the hose that runs to the speedometer. Disconnect the hose from the fitting and blow compressed air back down the tube to help expel in debris that might remain in the lower unit. Don't forget to reconnect and secure the hose.

It gets a quick flushing everytime I go out (after flushing the engine) and has been accurate and never an issue since...

Thanks for the ideas, unfortunately, I have tried most of them, except for the method of blowing the line dry after every usage, because it currently doesn't work and HP air didn't dislodge anything. I applied the air pressure where the barbed fitting is just above the lower unit.

The wire I used to try to clean out the end of the pitot tube, went in quite far I thought, so maybe the clog is where the tube makes a 90 degree turn to travel up inside the lower unit. I have a feeling it's probably more bits of seaweed and debris rather than salt. Maybe some solution dribbled into the top of the tube above the lower unit would dissolve whatever crud is in there. I'll have to try that as soon as I think of something to use.

Start with just plain water - fill it up and let it set (an hour, maybe a few days) until you see it dribbling out. Then try the HP air again. Hopefully the water will at least soften up whatever is in there enabling it be blown out. Even if it doesn't dribble out after a few days, try anyways.
