I recently had bought a 14 foot Jon boat and it came with a 1986 Yamaha tiller 25hp. I had a bigger wooden boat with a 40hp but I’ve gotten tired of riding big boats. And riding it around streams is very limited during low tides. A Jon boat is much more manageable. I ride down in the inter coastals of southern parts of North Carolina. It’s pretty much a straight light and I’ve been planning to convert it to a remote steering so I don’t kill my neck. I think I’ve got the mechanical aspect of it down but I’m not sure on the wiring. Is it even possible to wire the electronics to the control box or do I have to control it from the outboard. Thanks in advance.
