Just posted about problems with Prime Starter Assembly. Don't know if this is related.
I can not get engine to shift into gear, both forward or reverse, when engine is running (without prime Starter in place) or when engine is off. When running if I try to shift into reverse, I hear grinding of gears, so I don't force it. When trying to shift into forward with engine running (without prime starter in place) it just won't go into gear, but no grinding noise. This is a 2008 model ( I think) and does have a carb that I have compeletely cleaned recently. What can cause gears to not shift like this? Can gear shifting be affected by a bad Prime Starter Assembly?
