i was given a Yamaha outboard that needs some minor work but don't know what year it is. the only iformation i have is on the name plate. it says YAMAHA 30AE 689L409126.This is all i can find.does anyone know the year and horse power and if parts can be found

look on this site!
30AE was produced between 1979/83..look for a small year letter in an corner of the i.d-plate...

my guess is that a letter P is in the plate...wich stand for 1983.....
