1992 TLRQ 70 HP Rebuild Questions

Had a ring fail on the #1 cylinder which caused a total compression loss.

It needed to be bored to .030 over.

Each cylinder was bored .030 over not just 1.

Will there be need to change the carb jets with this much overage?

I would want to do this before it all goes back together not after.

Also, any recommendations on pistons or pistons to stay away from is appreciated.

The amount of additional air drawn into the motor is going to be insignificant and would only come into play if and when you are at WOT.

No need to change the carburetors. They are self metering. More air flow results in more fuel flow. Just like when you open and close the throttle.

Wiseco pistons seem to offer the best bang for the buck from what I read on a bass boats forum. Some feel they are more durable than Yam pistons. I don't think that Yam offers a piston that is 30 thou over anyway.
