Hoping someone can confirm that the resistance test on my CDI failed, and requires replacement. Any takers?

If I understand how you tested the pulser coil, you unpluged it from the cdi unit and checked the resistance at the plug going to the pulser, if this is how you tested and the resistance was out of range, then the cdi would recive incorrect signals, I would be inclined to say the pulser coil is the culprit. Check your service manual to verify testing of the pluser is done unloaded or unpluged. Lot to spend for a cdi and still have the same problem.
