2003 yamaha f 115tlrb

Quick question, I'm in the process of troubleshooting a no start on my 03 f115 tlrb. I have no spark out of either coils. I have 12 volts at both connectors. when cranking, once the ecu kicks in the ground i have varying voltage. Jumps from 2v to 0 to as high as 6.From what i see it should be at 5 volts unloaded. Should this be a constant 5v or should it be fluctuating? Thanks in advance for any help.

for that measurement, you need to use a peak voltage adapter
(or a meter with peak voltage capability)

do you have that?
a standard multimeter will tell you nothing meaningful
