So, I've salvaged a sunken 2003 Yamaha 85cv (85AET) (3 cylinder, 2-stroke).
Starter relay, tilt/trim relay and regulator/rectifier needs replacing. However stator coil, spark coils and CDI unit seem to be in tact.
I've got the engine running and all cleaned out. My problem seems to be weak spark on cylinders #1 and #3. Through testing, I've ruled out faulty spark plugs and faulty spark coils.
Cylinder #2 runs hotter and also spark plug is dry after running at idle. #1 and #3 run cooler, but spark plugs are wet after running at idle. All three cylinders have spark, but a visible inspection shows weaker spark on #1 and #3.
Now, keep in mind that this engine is running without a functioning rectifier, starter relay or tilt/trim relay.
Any specific reason why #1 and #3 might running cooler and spark plugs are wet?
