  • 2002 Yamamha 150 2 stroke

posted earlier about a problem I'm having with my 2002 Yamaha 150 2 stroke, its a carbureted engine. After running for a while it starts to miss while under power, if I shut it off it will not restart right away. I've checked eng. compression , its good ! I've replace the pump ball and hose, I dumped the fuel in the separator into a jar it was fine! I'm thinking electrical but don't know where to start ! any ideas ?

    Thanks

    I am thinking fuel.
other than occasional spark plug cap failures the rest is rather bullet proff.
easy way to tell is monitor CDI output peak voltages to all 6 ign coils at the failure point.
if all 6 are ok go chase fuel issues.

Rodbolt17 , Thanks I hope your guess is correct , since the carbs are freshly rebuilt the fuel is new non-ethanol, the spark plugs are new maybe fuel pumps ? read they only last two to three years! these are original I believe.
Do you know the what the CDI voltage output is supposed to be for normal operations ?

      Thanks Mike
