  • Strange things are happening

On some occasions and for no apparent reason my F115 will shudder and shake the whole boat. When this happens, the temperature alarm sounds. The pump is working as evident from the piss stream. The vibration stops at below 2500 rpms. The problem can disappear as abruptly as it started.

First place I'd check would be the propeller/prop shaft area....maybe some sea weed or rope wrapped around down there?....May want to remove the prop to check behind it and for tightness of prop nut, etc....

Also, if it's sea weed/sea grass covering your water intake screens, that would explain the high temperature alarm....any kelp or similar in your area?....

Alarm coming in will limit some motors to to 2500 rpm and some of the old 2 strokes to 2000.
I believe your motor drops cylinders when RPM reduction comes in, so make sure your buzzer works and your gauges show what alarm is coming in.
Below the 2500 RPMs it does not drop cylinders as there is no need to reduce RPM, but the alarm should still be sounding
