What is the difference between high bump and low bump gears in the upper drive?

Is there actually a difference in the gears or is it just the shifter and bushings that make it easier to bump into gear?

It is 50 here on the TX coast this morning and sprinkling rain

if you are ordering a gear set it wont matter.\
the difference was in how the shift cone and shift slide were made.
what you will need from merc is the new shim procedure.
the only time the shift BUMP would come into play is if you were replacing an individual part.

Thank you Rod, there is a sb on that kit that tell's what shims to order compared to the old ones.
What is flat rate to rebuild an upper and clean out the lower?

to much saltwater to flat rate around here but typically if you have the correct tools it takes about 6-8 hours.
