  • 1998 Yamaha Outboard 150hp (Salt Water Series II) S150TXRW Gauges?

I purchased a 1998 boat recently with this motor on it. It has some off brand gauges that are all shot due to boat sitting outside and uncovered. I would like to go back to basic "Yamaha" gauges on the boat that show when the temp alarm goes off and the oil level. My issue is that I don't know exactly what those gauges are. Hoping someone out there might have one like this or have seen one like this to point me in the right direction. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I think these are what I need?

The photos depict a Yamaha multifunction tachometer. Older version and then later version. Either will work with your motor. So will the latest version of Yamaha multifunction tachometer. 6Y5 type.

An adapter harness will be needed.

Boscoe - does the 6Y5 Multi-function tach with the red-yellow-green on the face date back to before there were 4-stroke Yamahas?

          I believe so.

Thanks. Any idea if this would be the correct adapter harness?

Just found this today. Would this be indicative of the entire layout?

                sort of.
But that shows >2005, when the engine, and tach were converted to a "trim/oil harness" using a single 4-pin plug.
Prior to that - as your engine - used a harness with two plugs on each end.

That's why Boscoe mentioned the need for an "adapter harness"

If you wanna save some bucks check out http://gaugesaver.com

Majority of the time when a gauge fails it's due to either LCD burn out or the polarized lens deteriorates. This guy buys used yam gauges, replaces LCD and lens, then resells for dirt cheap...compared to new.
