  • Fuel sending unit part number....please

I have taken my sending units out of my fuel tanks, because they lied to me!!
Front main take was very very near empty and the gauge was showing me 3/4 full. I have the stock fuel management gauges that are in a 1994 Grady-
White with twin 200 Yamaha two stokes on it. I have been looking for the replacement part , cant seem to find the right one. This one looks like it has a round tube with a flat piece of metal with resistors on it every 1 1/2" or so. :Any help ,greatly appreciated.

It will be a drop in replacement.

You can get one a bit on the long side and cut it so that is close to the bottom of the tank. Say half an inch if you want.

better would be to call grady white.
they will put you in touch with the correct part.
grady white is a decent company to work with.
          and they keep extensive records.

Grady is a great company. Hopefully they can give you a part number for a twenty year old sender.

More than likely it will be the tank maker that knows the part number since most tanks come from the tank maker with a sender installed.

Then you will need to ask yourself, do I stick with antiquated electro-mechanical technology or do I move into the present with modern technology. For about the same amount of money.

Yamaha has upgraded their multi-function tachometers several times over the last twenty years. They have not hung around in the past. Time and progress move forward. You might want to think of doing the same. And besides, 99.9 percent of fuel quantity indication systems result from the sender.

I am in no way affiliated with Centroid. I just use their products. There may be other makers of solid state modern technology senders.

By the way, a capacitance sender will warn of water in the fuel tank should you be unfortunate enough for that to happen. The other types will not.

                Interesting,
Is that if enough free water gets in to the point it touches the probe it warns or does a water mix set the alert?

Yes to water touching the end of the probe, as I understand it.

Hopefully, the inlet to the fuel pick up tube will be slightly higher than the end of the probe so that a water in the tank alert ocurrs before water gets sucked into the fuel tube.
