Hello you all.
I´m restoring my outboard engine, which is 1988, 30 Hp, 3cyl Yamaha. I´m using it on 4,5 m QuickSilver Inflatable boat.
My question is what would be the best propeller/pitch on this motor for my normal use with this boat.
The main usage is transporting 2 to 4 divers with gear. Sometimes we use the boat for sidescan sonar runs so steady 4-5 knots is the best speed. The boat is around 87 kg. The full throttle operating range of the motor is around 4,500 – 5,500.
When I bought the motor the propeller under it was a damaged aluminum 9 7/8 x 9-F. I thought it was ok propeller, I quess, the boat got to plane very quickly. But the water was splashing a lot into the boat. I don´t why or if it was normal or not. That could be something else.
If someone can advise me or help me with this, any comment would be very appreciated. Regards to you all.
