So I recently had a new lower unit put on my 2008 T9.9. When they put the new lower unit on, I also asked for a lower pitch prop is one is available. They gave me a 11 3/4" x 5 3/4" 4 blade which turns out to be off the T8, when it was made. However, it doesn't necessarily say its a dual thrust like the T9.9 props. Now the new prop works great, but the motor sounds completely different. At idle it sounds like the motor is out of the water and it very bubbling. Also when I rev it up in nuetral, water and exhaust will shoot out an opening at the top of the middle housing. Close to the top of the driveshaft. When the motor is in gear and rev'd up, everything seems normal.
Is this because the T8 prop or is there something else with the lower unit install? Maybe the exhaust exit is different between the T8 and T9.9's? I'm waiting to here back from the dealer now but figured I'd ask here.
