Chrome water pump kits

I have noticed that there are chrome pump kits listed on this site whilst searching for parts for a 1993 85hp two stroke. Are this kits an upgrade?
Does anyone have any info/ knowledge about them?

You don't need them just go with standard water pump kit.

If you operate in sandy/silty water then perhaps a chrome kit might offer a bit better service life. But, if what you have been doing works, then does it need to be fixed?
