  • overheat alarm while flushing

2003 115hp 4-stroke. I started it out of the water to let in run as I usually do a few times every winter. I had the water hose hooked up to the flush system and it was peeing. The overheat alarm came on after about 5 mins. but the engine appeared to be circulating water?? Thanks for any help.

I am no expert, but this is a recommendation based upon my research. Try a Y hose coupling on your garden hose and connect 2 short hoses...hooking up muffs and flush port at the same time.
    or
Get a flush bag. With a flush bag you can test the installation of a new water pump, etc. I have never heard of someone having issues running with a flush bag. cheers!
