F 225 Yamaha 2002 Idle Problem

After running the motor maybe a half hour I shift into neutral the motor idles fine for about 1/2 sec then speeds up to 4k + rpms. I have twin F225's on the boat and Yamaha Dual Station control system. In gear everything appears to be OK...Any ideas what is going on? Other motor is just fine. Thanks

Ty,
Have your engines had both recalls done? One is for the throttle bushing kits which may have
something to do with the throttle sticking issue you are having. The other is for the link rod recall. I also believe your engine qualifies for a tech bulletin for the regulator and rectifier. Check with your Yamaha dealer because they are a no charge item. You can tell if the rod link has been done if you remove the top plastic cover and look for a dimple in the rod connector at the top of the engine. The old one doesn't have the dimple.
