Have been told by the mechanic that i need a lower unit but he tells me that the shaft length is 24 inches. Is this possible? I keep seeing on line that all the shaft lengths are 20 or 25 inches. This unit is to go on a F90 TLR (2007) that is on a pontoon. If anyone knows where I would find a 24 inch shaft please let me know.

your mechanic is wrong,, no such thing as a 24 inch shaft,, tlr is a 20 inch.. if the measurement is 24 inches on the transom , then you need a 25 inch motor.,, -
F= 4 stroke
90=90HP
T =trim+tilt
L= 20" transom

yes sure 24 inch shaft comes free of charge ,just cut the transom down with a circular saw another 4' and your motor will fit in easy ,but if you looking for 24inch shaft i can bet you wont find it in this day and age the another theory is stated by ROD BOLT above that's what it is mate
