Motor stopping at idle & in forward
Hi- Took the boat out for a run on Sat & Sun, Sat it ran fine. Sunday got to our destination (15min run), put the motor in neutral and it stopped. Would not re start kept stopping. Waited about an hour tried again and same thing got it to turn over but then it would idle for 30 seconds and stop. Fired it up again and as soon as I moved it into forward it would stop. Tried this a few times before giving reverse a go which worked so I ran it for a few minutes before moving it back into neutral and than forward.... this time it worked. I'm nervous about taking it out again.... do you know what the problem might be? I have a Yamaha 60HP 2 stroke 60FETOL.
