Yamaha 115 Trim "groaning"

My 2005 115 4-stroke groans like a sea monster when I lower the trim. it runs fine on the tilt, but the port side trim piston seems to be what is making the noise. There is only about 30% of travel when it makes the noise, the rest of the travel is fine.

Any ideas?

Put some marine grease on the ball end of the trim piston. Also, dab some grease on the contact pad on the clamp bracket; the part where the trim piston makes contact.
