I recently had a low speed collision with a submerged log. As the motor went over it the back of the boat raised up and over. Everything seems fine except for the fact that the steering is now very tight almost like it's locked and requires a fair bit of force on the wheel to turn the motor.
Nothing appears to be bent on the lower unit. Trimmed up the steering seems loser than in normal operating position. I removed the steering cable linkage which had no affect on the tightness and also greased all fittings.
I'm looking for ideas on what to check.
