Trying to wire up Tacho on an F50

Hi I recently purchased a command link round tacho and speedo along with wires and bus etc. from ebay, I have downloaded a manual for the instalation.
I have had a look under the cowl and the only connection I can see in the area shown in the manual with a blank fitted is a flat three pin rather than the square 4 pin on the harness can anyone shed any light on how this works.

The engine says it is a 2006 model year on the bracket and it is fuel injected although it is the older style cowl rather than the pointy top new ones.

Where you able to sort this out? Have kinda the same problem

look for a white connector,its a 4 pin but only has two wires.
