  • water under oil seal cover

Upon replacing water pump components I noticed an inordinate amount of water under oil seal cover, item 25,PN66T-45344-01-00. This is right on top of [2] lip type oil seals. Is this normal and should I be concerned?

    Hi Joe,

You left us a puzzle, no model / year.

Looks like the P/N goes to a 25,30,40. 2004 ish.

I'd say no worry, what you describe is just above the oil seals and below the water pump.
Those seals are what separates the oil and water. If you want, pull the oil drain at the bottom without venting it at top and see if there is evidence of water. Either creamy oil or a slug of water at the bottom of the gear case. Depends when it was last run.

    No water, go fishin!
    Tight Lines!
If its got teats or tires, you bound to have trouble with it....
