Siezed Steering Ram

The steering ram is seized on my 90TLRA. I plan on biting the bullet and putting a stainless steel tilt tube in and new hydraulic steering. Should I completely remove the motor to replace the tilt tube or can I just support it from the lifting ring, but keep it on the transom?

Also, the best price that I've seen on the Baystar HK4200A kit is from Foreandaft marine. Anyone ever bought from them?

Most boats there is not enough room to get tilt tube out without pulling motor, if have room then can support motor with lifting hook.
