Tilt stop switch ?

I have a 16ft. hewes redfisher w/ a 90hp 2 stroke. I just installed a baystar hydraulic steering system. When I raise the motor to maximum the steering cylinder will just barely hit the transom. I need to reduce the maximum tilt by about 1/2 inch. For the most part I remember not to tilt the motor all the way up, but I'm afraid if I forget I will damage the steering cylinder.
