Have a 70TLR with a build date of 08/07 that has never had the water pump changed. The motor is low hours and pumps well. I am concerned about the impeller getting hard and breaking off a tip. The part cost on this is cheap but there is a list of specials tools required. Is it worth buying four tools to change it myself? Tools needed are Slide Hammer Set YB-06096, Driver Rod YB-06071, Oil Seal Attachment YB-06269 Shift Rod Wrench YB-06052. Any input would be appreciated.

there are no special tools needed to do a water pump, worst case you will need a hammer and punch to loosen up the woodruff key, you can do the whole job with a handful of tools.. but like previous poster stated, check the pump housing it is plastic, and it does melt...
