Black plastic cover

2000 Yamaha Z200TLRY I am attempting to replace the thermostats on my outboard. Each stat has four bolts holding it in place, one bolt is covered by a black plastic vertical cover that protects spark plug wiring, etc. How do you remove this cover without breaking it?

It has catches that holds it to fuel rail, pull out on catch to remove.

I use a long thin screwdriver and pop the catches.
its more a pain to reinstall than remove.
