Stainless steel 316 bolt

Hello
Can I use stainless steel 316 (A4) bolts on the thermostat cover on a 1987 90ETLH instead of the orginale bolts? If, will these bolt corrode and fasten like the originale types. I have just drilled out 4 broken bolts.

Yes you can and no stainless wont corrode.

however,without a water proof grease or a non copper anti sieze compound, they will stick again.
its not the bolts that corrode.
