fuel gauge

I have a 2004 hpdi 200 HP ,and the multifunction fuel gauge is very inaccurate, could I connect a regular fuel gauge and still maintain all the other parameters, rpm etc...thank you.

You can, but a fuel gauge is only as good as the signal it recieves,, I would address the sender, which is probably why it is inaccurate,,,

Ok ...because I am having a reading when I still have half a tank , just one bar and blinking....like is it were almost empty...
